Next rnd: Using the knitted method (see Glossary), *CO 8 sts, k12, CO 8 sts, k12, CO 8 sts, sl m, k24, sl m; rep from * once more—144 sts.

Knit 10 rnds.

Place first set of 8 held sts on dpn. *With a separate strand of yarn and leaving a 12" (30.5 cm) tail, work these 8 sts in St st for 10 rows, ending with a WS row. Cut yarn. Hold 8 sts on dpn in front of first 8 sts on left cir needle. With original working yarn, [knit first st on dpn tog with first st on cir] 8 times*, k12, place next set of 8 held sts on dpn, rep from * to *, k12, place next set of 8 held sts on dpn, rep from * to *, sl m, k24, sl m, place next set of 8 held sts on dpn, rep from * to *, k12, place next set of 8 held sts on dpn, rep from * to *, k12, place last set of 8 held sts on dpn, rep from * to *, sl m, k24. Work 10 rnds even.

Rep loop setup and make loops sections 2 more times—3 rows of 6 loops.

bind off and horseshoe hook straps

K8 and place these 8 sts on a holder, BO all sts to 7 sts before m, k7 and place 8 sts from right needle onto second holder, remove m, BO all sts to next m, remove m, knit until there are 8 sts on right needle and place these 8 sts on third holder, BO all sts to 7 sts before m, k7 and place 8 sts from right needle onto fourth holder, remove m, BO all sts to end of rnd, remove m—32 sts rem on 4 holders.
